                                       STUDENT AID


                                        DEFINITION

           Under direction, to assist with the care and supervision of the
           children in residence at a special school of the Department of
           Education or to assist the staff in performing work on a part-time
           basis in all of the various areas of the schools; and to do other
           related work.


                                      TYPICAL TASKS

           Assists with the physical and recreational activities of the
           children, or works part-time at an assigned job assisting the
           regular school staff; may be assigned work in any of the various
           areas of the schools; performs clerical, labor, or other work as
           assigned.


                                  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

           Registration as a student at a college or vocational institution, or
           at a special school under the Department of Education.


                                 KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

           To learn and perform assigned work; work effectively with faculty,
           staff, and other students; accept responsibility.
