                           INSTITUTION FIREFIGHTER (PART TIME)


                                        DEFINITION

           Under direction and subject to call at any time (in addition to
           regular duties), to fight fires occurring on or adjacent to the
           grounds of a State institution; and to do other related work.


           TYPICAL TASKS
           Assists in fighting fires on or adjacent to the institution grounds,
           including operating fire engines and auxiliary equipment; attends
           classes covering modern methods of fire prevention and suppression;
           participates in fire drill; maintains all fire fighting equipment in
           @roper working order; directs the activities of volunteer
           firefighters; remains on fire duty as assigned.


           MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
           Employment in a State institution.

           Ability to:  Climb ladders readily while carrying heavy objects.
