Course work that satisfies the requirement for the differential has not yet been determined. The Department of Personnel Administration (DPA) will be meeting with the Association of California State Attorneys and Administrative Law Judges (ACSA),affected departments and the National Judicial College to discuss such matters as the length and content of training which qualifies for the differential. DPA's goal is to balance the need for consistency between departments with unique training interests of each department. Until DPA releases the pay letter describing training which qualifies for the differential, departments should not authorize training with the expectation that it satisfies the terms of the Unit 2 collective bargaining agreement.
