During the change of administration, departments may have appointed employees with "Special Consultant" classifications, pending the Governor's official approval. This classification code is not identified on the State Controller's System as an eligible classification for the State-paid Group Term Life Insurance and/or the LTD plan. For employees to be covered by these benefits, each department will need to notify the Department of Personnel Administration (DPA), Benefits Division, Desi Rodrigues at (916) 324-0533 or Calnet 454-0533 to arrange direct monthly payments until these employees are officially approved by the Governor.
