  The Department of Personnel Administration (DPA) and State 
  Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF) have agreed to a three 
  month extension to the Master Agreement.  The extension 
  will expire on September 30, 1998.  This extension is 
  necessary to allow DPA and SCIF additional time to 
  negotiate a new Master Agreement.
  
  Under this extension, all of the terms and conditions of 
  the Master Agreement remain unchanged.  Departments need to 
  reimburse SCIF timely for administrative service fees and 
  the provision of workers' compensation benefits.  
  Departments need to provide payment of the 1/6 deposits as 
  soon as the State budget is signed.
  
  DPA and SCIF are continuing to meet to resolve the 
  outstanding issues on the Master Agreement.  If you have
