State of California M E M O R A N D U M REFERENCE CODE: 98-008 DATE: February 18, 1998 TO: Personnel Officers Employee Relations Officers FROM: Department of Personnel Administration Labor Relations Division SUBJECT: Distribution of Minutes to the Statewide Printing and Allied Trades Classification Team Meetings CONTACT: Daniel Tokunaga, Personnel Management Analyst (916) 324-0433, CALNET 454-0433 FAX: (916) 327-1886 OFFICE VISION: DPA(DHTOKUNA) INTERNET: DHTOKUNA@DPA.CA.GOV In November of 1997, PML 97-041 invited all State departments to participate in a review of printing trade classes. The intent of this review was to consolidate these classes and better describe their future use within the State. Ten user departments, along with representatives from the Department of Personnel Administration (DPA) and the California State Employees' Association, have formed a team and met several times to achieve the above stated objectives. Minutes to these meetings have been written to document the team's progress. In order to facilitate communication among all users of the State's printing classes and keep departments informed, the team believes that distribution of the meeting minutes would be appropriate. Attached you will find copies of the meeting minutes compiled for the last five meetings. They provide information on what issues have been identified, what alternative courses of action are available to address these issues, and how the team might best proceed to achieve the desired goals. Because not all departments may want to receive these minutes on a continuing basis, the team is limiting future distribution to only those departments that request updates. If you or other staff in your department want future minutes, complete the attached form and return it to DPA. Once received, a copy of the team's future minutes will be sent to the address listed on the form. Feel free to disseminate this form to the managers in your department's printing program. If you have any questions, please contact Daniel Tokunaga at (916) 324-0433, Calnet 454-0433, or fax him at (916) 327-1886.
