Labor Code Section 4650 requires that payment of TD shall be made as due every two weeks. Accordingly, to avoid unnecessary risk to the departments and SCIF, effective January 20, 1998, SCIF will issue TD checks directly to injured workers. SCIF will mail copies of the issued TD checks to the injured worker's department. Departments should anticipate receiving these copies at the same time they previously received the TD checks and can calculate supplementation, etc., at that time. If you have questions in regards to this issue, please contact Jamie Meyers of the Workers' Compensation Program at (916) 327-4024. Kathie Vaughn, Chief Benefits Division
