  For periods of work related disability commencing on or
  after Ocober 1, 1997, employees in Units 2 and 21, who are
  members of the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS)
  or the State Teachers' Retirement System (STRS), are
  eligible to receive Industrial Disability Leave with
  Supplementation (IDLS).  Eligible employees in these units
  will no longer have the option of electing Temporary
  Disability (TD) at any time during the 52 weeks that the
  IDL benefit is available. 
  
  This benefit is provided in the manner and based on the
  same criteria as for other employees.  Please refer to PML
  94-62 and PML 96-059 for instuctions on providing this
  benefit.  Please note that this benefit is not available
  to employees in Bargaining
