State of California M E M O R A N D U M REFERENCE CODE: PML 96-021 DATE: May 21, 1996 TO: Personnel Officers Personnel Transactions Supervisors Personnel Transactions Staff FROM: Department of Personnel Administration Benefits Division SUBJECT: Dental Program Training CONTACT: Susan Barnes, Benefits Program Analyst (916) 324-0432 or CALNET 454-0432 Office Vision: DPA (SEBARNES) INTERNET: SEBARNES@SMTP.DPA.CA.GOV THIS IS CORRECTED PML 96-021, SEE PARAGRAPH FOUR(4)WHICH HAS BEEN REVISED. In the past, staff at the Department of Personnel Administration (DPA), Benefits Division has conducted training on the FlexElect Program during the month of August. At this time there have been no major changes to the FlexElect Program for the 1997 Plan Year and, therefore, a decision has been made not to conduct FlexElect training this year. As many of you may be aware, we have been working on a new Dental Program Procedures Manual which has been completed and is in the process of being printed and distributed as a revision to our Benefits Administration Manual (BAM). In addition, DPA staff developed a dental training session, which has already been conducted for some of the larger departments in Sacramento. It is our goal to provide this training to all interested personnel transactions staff prior to the September Open Enrollment Period. To accommodate departments who may not have access to a training facility or for those personnel transactions staff who were not able to attend their departments scheduled training session, we have arranged some training dates and times in Sacramento and at various central locations throughout the State. The training session will take approximately three hours. All personnel transactions staff interested in attending a Dental Program training session must register in advance by completing and faxing the attached Dental Program Training Registration Form (Attachment A) to Susan Barnes at (916) 322-3769. We encourage you to register early, as class size is limited at each location. Your personnel transactions staff will be scheduled for training based on the date DPA receives your registration form. The initial response to this training has been very favorable and we look forward to the opportunity to provide this training to all interested personnel transactions staff. Please contact Susan Barnes at (916) 324-0432 or CALNET 454-0432 if you have any questions regarding this information. Patricia Pavone, Chief Benefits Division Attachment will be mailed with hard copy of PML.
