State of California MEMORANDUM DATE: July 11, 1994 TO: PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT LIAISONSREFERENCE CODE: 94-40 THIS MEMORANDUM SHOULD BE DISTRIBUTED TO: Personnel Officers Labor Relations Officers FROM: Department of Personnel Administration Policy Development Office SUBJECT: Pay-for-Performance Rules -- Revised Hearing and Public Comment Period Dates On June 24, 1994, the Department of Personnel Administration issued PML Memo 94-38, which announced its intent to establish a Pay-for-Performance program for State managers and supervisors through the adoption of proposed rules 599.799.1 and 599.799.2. The public hearing time for these rules has been changed to 10:00 a.m. on August 30, 1994. This replaces the previously announced August 18 hearing. The hearing will still be held in the First Floor auditorium at 744 P Street in Sacramento. In addition, the close of the public comment period on these rules has been changed to 5:00 p.m. on August 30, 1994. These changes are being made because the informative digest was inadvertently omitted from the original notice of this action that appeared in the California Regulatory Notice Register on July 1, 1994. (The digest was included in PML Memo 94-38.) The digest will be published in the Register on July 15, 1994. Extending the comment period and delaying the hearing until August 30 provide for a full 45 days of notice after this publication date. Please continue to refer to PML Memo 94-38 for the complete text and other supporting material for these proposed rules. In addition, if you have not done so already, please share these proposals with your managers and supervisors so that they are informed of them and have the opportunity to comment, if they so desire. Questions on this proposal should continue to be referred to Richard Leijonflycht on (916) 324-9350, CALNET 454-9350 or by fax on (916) 324-0524, CALNET 454-0524. Wendell M. Coon Chief
