State of California M e m o r a n d u m Date: December 22, 1993 Reference Code: 93-83 To: PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT LIAISONS THIS MEMORANDUM SHOULD BE DISTRIBUTED TO: Personnel Officers Labor Relations Officers From: Department of Personnel Administration Classification and Compensation Division Subject: Bargaining Unit 03 Employees' 9-12 and 11-12 Leave Options Effective January l, 1994, Bargaining Unit 03 employees are eligible for 9-12 and 11-12 Leave and Pay Plans. A department head may, upon the request of an employee, grant a leave of absence not to exceed three (3) pay periods during the period designated by the department for employees requesting a leave under the 9-12 Leave Plan and may grant a leave of absence not to exceed 75 calendar days during the summer vacation period for employees requesting a leave under the 11-12 Leave Plan. Leaves of absences granted under the 9-12 and 11-12 Leave Plans shall be administered under the same provisions as DPA Rule 599.786 which provides for the 10-12 Leave. The 9-12 and 11-12 Pay Plans shall be administered under the same provisions as DPA Rule 599.667 which provides for the 10-12 Pay Plan, with exception to the following calculations for payment: 9-12 Pay Plan Regular monthly salary times 9 divided by 12 equals 9-12 Pay Plan gross monthly installment. 11-12 Pay Plan Regular monthly salary times 11 divided by 12 equals 11-12 Pay Plan gross monthly installment. An employee returning from such leaves shall have the right to his/her former position. Any denial of the 9-12 and 11-12 plans shall be addressed in writ- ing with the reason for the denial.
