State of California M E M O R A N D U M To: PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT LIAISONS Date: November 20, 1992 Reference Code: 92-118 THIS MEMORANDUM SHOULD BE DISTRIBUTED TO ALL PERSONNEL OFFICERS AND PERSONNEL TRANSACTIONS STAFF From: Department of Personnel Administration Subject: Common Carrier Insurance for Excluded Employees Effective October 1, 1992, coverage for the State-paid Common Carrier Insurance has been extended to all half-time or more managers, exempt employees, supervisors, and confidential and other excluded employees under age 80 who are also eligible for the State-paid Basic Life Insurance for Excluded Employees. The eligible time base for this Common Carrier Insurance was previously limited to full-time. This $150,000 accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy with The Hartford covers eligible employees anywhere in the world while they are a passenger on a common carrier for business-related travel. Employees are automatically covered by this policy when they enter an eligible class and terminated from it when they leave an eligible class.
