  During the 2001 negotiations between the International 
  Union of Operating Engineers and the State, we agreed to 
  support a Joint Apprenticeship Committee to promote 
  training opportunities in the craft and maintenance 
  occupations.  
  
  The union and management have established apprenticeship 
  standards for the carpenter, electrician, painter, and 
  plumber apprentice classifications.  Attached are the 
  apprenticeship standards for these programs.  
  
  In addition, Locals 39 and 501 have journeyman upgrade 
  training courses available through their training programs.  
  Many of these courses are available at no expense to the 
  State employer.  If you are interested in information
