Conference registration closes when conference capacity is reached. Capacity is usually reached approximately November 1. The conference program includes informational updates and practical workshops in labor relations, personnel, health and safety, workers compensation, benefits administration and variety of other human resources management areas. The conference is specifically designed to provide supervisors, managers and staff in all human resources specialties with the current first-hand information they need to perform effectively in their jobs. A conference registration form and a tentative conference schedule are attached. (Electronic versions of the registration form and the tentative agenda will be available on the DPA web-site at www.dpa.ca.gov.) To attend the conference, you must pre-register and submit to DPA both: 1. A completed registration form (hard copy only, no electronic registrations can be accepted); and 2. A check in the amount of $180.00 (per person) payable to: "DPA Labor Relations / Personnel Conference". (Conference fees are non-refundable.) Detailed conference registration instructions are included on the registration form. Hotel reservations for the conference are the responsibility of the individual. Hotel reservations will be taken for the Hyatt Regency Monterey beginning Monday, July 16, 2001, 7:00 a.m., at (800)233-1234. THE HOTEL WILL NOT ACCEPT RESERVATIONS FOR THE CONFERENCE PRIOR TO THIS DATE AND TIME. DPA has contracted for all of the rooms at the hotel and negotiated reduced room rates for this State sponsored conference. Room rates range from $80 per night for standard rooms and go up to $90 to $120 per night for suites (subject to availability). Priority registration will be given to 3-night guaranteed reservations.
