Under the terms of the first agreement, the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (UIAB) may have four confidential positions. Under the terms of the second agreement, the State may designate 36 additional positions as confidential. These positions are presently allocated among the departments as follows. 1. Youth Authority 2 Total 35 As vacancies occur in the above positions (with the exception of UIAB), departments must secure approval from Department of Personnel Administration (DPA) before extending a confidential designation to new appointees.
