Furlough Program
List of Offices Open to the Public on Furlough Fridays
This page informs the public about offices and services that will be open on scheduled furlough days. State employees with questions about their furlough schedules should contact their personnel office.

The following offices will maintain normal business hours on furlough Fridays.
All State prisons, hospitals, developmental centers and other 24-hour operations will maintain normal hours of operation, as will the California Highway Patrol and CalFire fire stations.
In addition,
Within the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the following will be open:
- Parole Offices
Within the Department of Education all offices and the following special schools will be open:
- School for the Blind, Fremont
- Schools for the Deaf in Fremont and Riverside
- Diagnostic Centers in Fremont, Fresno, and Los Angeles
The following Department of Public Health services will be available by phone only:
- Genetic Disease Screening Program
- WIC Vendor Hotline
- Emergency Preparedness Office
- 24hr Duty Officer
The following also will be open during their normal business hours:
- Governor's Office
- Attorney General's Office (Department of Justice)
- Secretary of State's Office
- State Controller's Office
- State Treasurer's Office
- Franchise Tax Board
- Board of Equalization
- Employment Development Department
- State Compensation Insurance Fund
- California Housing Finance Authority
- California Earthquake Authority
- California African American Museum
- California Science Center
- Military Department offices
- State parks
- Fish and Game hatcheries and wildlife areas
- Vista Del Lago Visitor's Center at Pyramid Lake
- Romero Visitor's Center at San Luis Reservoir
- Field offices of the Horse Racing Board
