GOAL #5: Develop and offer cost-effective statewide training
State departments use strategic planning to set the organization's vision, mission, goals, and objectives. Employee evaluations are used to align employee performance with strategic plans. When the organization's goals are reflected in setting performance expectations for employees, the organization's effectiveness improves. HR Mod is providing tools and training to departments to make it easier to link departmental objectives and employee performance goals.
Objective #9: Coordinate and provide training statewide
This objective underscores the efficiency that can be realized by standardizing and networking training resources. HR Mod is launching a new State Virtual Training Center with free on-line learning solutions. This and other resources will provide current and future employees with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to be successful in their jobs and careers. HR Mod will continue to:
- Assist Departments to identify and develop common areas of training that may be delivered in a coordinated way.
- Leverage available technologies to enhance training opportunities.
- Work with colleges and universities to tailor educational programs for the State of California workforce.
- Develop on-line tools such as the "Virtual Help Desks" sponsored by HR Mod that bring together resources to support employees in meeting the demands of their current jobs and preparing for advancement.
