Consolidated Benefits (CoBen) Allowance -- 2007
A CoBen
allowance is the amount the State pays each month toward the combined cost of
your health, dental, and vision benefits.
Employees in these units hired
on or after Jan. 1, 2007, are subject to "dependent vesting." That means you
receive the full allowance for 1-party coverage but less than the full amount
for 2-party or 3-party coverage during your first two years of State
employment: 50 percent of the employer contribution for dependents during
the first year and 75 percent during the second year. After two years, you
receive the full employer contribution for dependents.
