2003 ANNUAL MEETING

The California Citizens Compensation Commission was formed in June 1990 following voter approval of Proposition 112. The Commission is responsible for setting the salaries and health, dental, and similar group insurance benefits for the State Legislators, Governor, Attorney General, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Controller, Treasurer, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Insurance Commissioner, and Board of Equalization members.
In accordance with the requirements of Proposition 112, the seven-member Commission meets annually, no later than June 30, to determine what, if any, changes should be made to elected officials’ current salary and benefits. The Commission’s decisions become effective the December following the annual meeting.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting is as follows:
♦ Approval of summary minutes from the March 14, 2002, Commission meeting.
♦ Opening comments by Commission.
♦ Staff reports, as requested by Commission.
♦ Public testimony on the salaries and benefits for elected State officers.
♦ Commission discussion and action on State officer salaries and benefits.
To accommodate as many people as possible during the public testimony portion of this meeting, the Commission asks that persons wishing to testify do the following:
♦ Schedule testimony in advance by calling the staff contact person listed below.
♦ Limit testimony to no more than five to seven minutes.
♦ Submit any detailed data or information in writing. Eight copies would be appreciated.
