 Open Enrollment
Open Enrollment is Sept. 3-Oct. 18, 2002. Enrollment actions taken during this time become effective January 1, 2003.

Dental Benefits: If you want to enroll, change plans, add or delete dependents to your coverage, or cancel your dental enrollment, you must submit a Dental Plan Enrollment Authorization form to your personnel office by Oct. 18, 2002. Click here for details of your State dental plan choices, rates, and a link to the form (Std. 692).

You don’t need to take any action if you want to keep your current dental plan choice.

FlexElect Reimbursement Accounts: A “reimbursement account” allows you to set aside money from your paycheck pretax to reimburse yourself for certain out-of-pocket expenses. Two types of accounts are available through the FlexElect program: one for medical expenses, the other for dependent care expenses.

To enroll in an account for 2003 (even if you currently have an account), you must submit a Reimbursement Account Enrollment Authorization form to your personnel office by Oct. 18, 2002.

  • The FlexElect handbook explains the program details, including how a reimbursement account saves you money on your taxes.
  • A link to the reimbursement account enrollment form (Std. 701R) is available on our FlexElect main page.

Cash Options: If you have health and/or dental coverage through your spouse or another source, you may opt to receive taxable cash in your paycheck in lieu of these benefits. If you’re currently enrolled in a cash option and want to continue receiving it next year, you don’t need to take any action unless you’re a “Permanent-Intermittent” (PI) employee. PI employees who want to continue receiving their cash option must re-enroll during open enrollment.

  • For employees in CoBen (excluded employees and employees in bargaining units 2, 7, 8, 16, 17, 18, and 19), Cash Options are offered through CoBen. Click here for details, or visit our CoBen main page.
  • For employees in all other bargaining units, Cash Options are offered through the FlexElect program. Refer to the FlexElect handbook for details.
  • A link to the CoBen Cash Option form (Std. 702) is available on our CoBen main page.
  • A link to the FlexElect Cash Option form (Std. 701C) is available on our FlexElect main page

Attention CoBen Employees: If you're in CoBen, try out the CoBen calculator to see how much will be deducted from your paycheck, or added to it, based on which health and dental plans you choose. It’s simple to use. To access it, go to our CoBen main page.
