Open Enrollment 2007 - Consolidated Benefits Allowance

Bargaining Units 16, 17, 18, 19

Employees in these units receive a CoBen allowance. A CoBen allowance is the amount the State pays each month toward the combined cost of your health, dental, and vision benefits.

Employees in these units hired on or after January 1, 2007 are subject to "dependent vesting." That means you receive the full allowance for 1-party coverage, but less than the full amount for 2-party or 3-party coverage during your first two years of State employment.

  • You receive 50% of the employer contribution for dependents during the first year.
  • You receive 75% of the employer contribution for dependents during the second year.
  • After two years, you receive the full employer contribution for dependents.
