Coping With Change
• Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides counseling for a wide range of issues, including stress. You may phone EAP to set up an appointment with a professional counselor, or you can explore EAP’s Web-based services, which include articles on layoffs and coping with that change.
Your eligibility for EAP services extends through the effective date of your employment. In addition, if you’re in bargaining unit 1, 3, 4, 11, 15, 20, or 21, or you’re in an “excluded” position, your eligibility continues for six months after layoff, providing you have visits remaining. Check your bargaining unit contract for details.
